In TrueMotion Family, your score is a measure of how safely you drive. Possible scores range from 0-100, with most scores falling in the 75-85 range.
Your score is based on a combination of factors. In descending order of importance, they are:
- Distracted Driving - how much you’re using your phone, including handheld phone calls and apps, texting, etc. Passively using a navigation or music app won't count against you, nor will handsfree phone calls.
- Hard Braking - how often you stop quickly. While obviously there are some cases where you don’t have any choice, in general, this is an indicator of not anticipating and following other cars too closely.
- High Speed - how often you exceed the speed limit by more than 10 miles per hour. Kinda illegal, and frowned upon by most moms and dads.
- Dangerous Time - how much you drive between midnight and 4am. This is the most dangerous time of day to drive – there are more fatigued drivers on the road at this time, as well as more impaired drivers than normal.
Each factor above is also scored from 0-100, where 100 is safest.
Unhappy with your score? Don’t worry! A few safer drives should boost your score pretty quickly, as the score is designed to focus on more recent trips. Just get out there and drive safely.
