What's up with all these permissions? Here's what we ask for and why we ask for it.
This lets us determine where you are using your phone's GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular connections. We use this data determine when you're driving and analyze your trips, as well as to share your location with Family members. We generally refresh your location when you move a significant distance, so the battery impact of TrueMotion Family is minimal when you're not driving. When you are on a trip, we work hard to use the absolute minimum amount of battery power needed to accurately record your trip.
We require the Phone permission so we can accurately measure distracted driving. This permission lets us look at whether you're making calls while you're driving (don't worry–handsfree calls don't count against you). This is all we use the phone permission for; we do not log, listen to, or otherwise store anything about your calls. This permission is only used to determine whether or not you were on a call during a trip.
